Restored 1964 BMW R27 Motorcycle.
This great BMW was completely restored and rebuilt back to as close to an original state as the owner could get it.
He tried to keep the spirit of originality by reusing as many original parts as possible.
The bike was completely disassembled down to the frame.
The frame was soda blasted down to raw steel before being repainted.
The single stage paint was applied in a thin coat just as they did in 1964, the stripes where painted free hand.
The entire bike was rebuilt, every seal, bearing and gasket was replaced.
The shocks were replaced.
All of the rubber parts and the cables were replaced.
The wheels were rebuilt using the original aluminium rims, original hubs and new spokes.
The tank was re-coated on the inside with the correct red coating.
The pet cock is the original and was rebuilt.
All of the the original hardware was reused after being re-plated in clear zinc.
The speedometer was rebuilt.
The engine was completely rebuilt using new valves, rings and a few other internals that needed replaced.
The gearbox was completely gone through along with the rear drive assembly and the carburettor.
This was a complete restoration, every nut and bolt was re-plated renewed or replaced with new.
