Restored 1965 BMW R60/2 Motorcycle.
This BMW was professionally restored from the frame up.
The carburettors were comprehensively restored.
A brand new exhaust system was fitted.
The bike was converted to 12volt electrics with a larger alternator and electronic ignition upgrade.
The original Weinmann wheel rims were restored and rebuilt with new spokes and nipples.
The frame and cycle parts were fully restored with wax coating applied internally for corrosion protection.
The petrol tank and guards were restored with all pin striping carried out by hand.
The petrol tank was sealed with the original BMW type red tank sealant.
New old stock tank badges were fitted.
The speedometer was restored and zeroed.
All of the rubbers including the handlebar grips, foot pegs, pillion pegs, gear change rubber, knee pads, headlight ear rubbers and cable rubbers were replaced.
The shocks were restored.
Reinforced clutch springs were used.
A new heavy duty wiring harness was fitted.
New old stock Hella bar end turn signals were fitted.
The cylinder heads were rebuilt to ‘as new’ condition with new inlet guides, exhaust guides, inlet valves, exhaust valves and hardened seats.
The barrels were restored and re-bored.
New old stock pistons were fitted.
The oil pump was restored.
The camshafts were restored.
The front timing gear set was replaced with new old stock items.
The crankcases were aluminium blasted for a period finish.
All of the engine bearings were replaced with genuine brass caged riveted bearings.
The crankshaft was fully rebuilt with new bearings and balanced.
The gearbox was fully restored throughout, all shafts, selectors and gears were replaced where necessary.
All of the cables were replaced.
