Restored 1979 Yamaha RD400F Motorcycle.

This stunning RD400 was fully restored by its owner.

All of the chassis parts were blasted and powder coated in the correct combination of gloss and satin black finish.

The wheels were stripped of all bearings and cush drive rubbers and vapour blasted to remove the old paint.

The wheels were polished and powder coated to the correct shade of red.

The wheels were fitted with all new bearing, seals, cush drive rubbers and a new rear sprocket was installed.

The brake calipers and master cylinders where stripped of all pistons and seals and the bodies were powder coated.

They were then rebuilt using new pistons and seals.

A new set of brake hoses to the original pattern were fitted.

New swinging arm bushes were fitted and a set of Hagon rear shocks fitted to the original pattern.

The front fork seals were replaced and filled with new fork oil.

The original wiring loom was in remarkable condition and was therefore cleaned and reused.

New genuine Yamaha front and rear mudguards were fitted.

All of the original fastenings were vapour blasted and re-plated for originality.

The fuel tank, side panel, oil tank, tail piece and seat rails were professionally repainted.

A new seat cover and strap were fitted and the original seat foam was reused.

New footrest rubbers and handle bar grips were fitted.

The engine was completely stripped and all of the cases were vapour blasted and refinished in the original satin black.

The crankshaft was professionally refurbished, checked for alignment and fitted with all new bearings and seals.

The cylinders were re-bored to third oversize and new pistons and rings were fitted.

The cylinders and heads were vapour blasted and refinished in satin black and a new set of damper rubbers were fitted.

All the gearbox bearings and seals were replaced with genuine Yamaha parts.

All of the gears and sectors were checked and reused.

The engine was rebuilt with all new gaskets, refurbished oil pump and a new front sprocket.

The engine was refitted to the frame with new engine mount damper rubbers.

The carburettors were vapour blasted and rebuilt with new float valves.

The original exhaust pipes were re-chromed and fitted with all new seals & gaskets.

A new kick start lever assembly was fitted.
