Restored 1965 British Specification 650cc A65 Lightning Rocket.
Purchased in 2010 as a rolling chassis with rebuilt bottom end (crank reground, new bearings right through,re-bored, new pistons and rings etc).
A new silencer was made and a new Siamese exhaust system was fitted.
The correct deep headlight, correct top yokes were used.
The engine and gear box ( It is the correct close ratio box as fitted to the Clubman and the A65DC) were completed including fitting a spin on in-line oil filtration system.
Pazon Electronic Ignition System + dual output Boyer Branson Ignition coil.
New chains all round.
The petrol tank was Ethanol proofed with ‘Casewell System’ gel.
All lights, electrics, suspension were refurbished and re fitted.
The front brake is the 1/2 width A65 Gold Star type.
The owner has fitted a pair of Amal 930 Mk1 Concentric’s in place of the 389/689 Monobloc’s as they are so much easier to set up and get to the ‘tickler’. .
The clocks were serviced, the bike totally repainted, rims are original Dunlop and in good order, frame was coated, original chrome was re-chromed.
A great looking British BSA.
