Restored Fantic Caballero 125 RC – Regolarita Competizione.
Described by collectors as the first edition, this is the 1974 model and was registered new in the UK in 1975.
Tested by the top trials and enduro riders of the day including Frank Melling who commented ‘ no loose ends and no weak points’ along with Jerry Clayton ‘ thrashed it mercilessly for six hours – it remained in perfect tune and gave no trouble at all’. A highly rated machine by all the professional accounts. This model was also one of the first production bikes to have it’s frame etc powder coated.
This bike has had the following items fitted:
New old stock –
Correct Ducati electronic ignition.
Rear light and lense.
Speedo and holder.
Throttle and grips.
Headlight and clamps.
Piston and ring set.
Gearbox casings.
Back brake lever and switch.
Fantic mud flaps.
Light switch and tank cap.
It also had the following work carried out –
Fork stanchions hard chromed.
Seat re-conditioned.
Tank painted.
Side panels restored beautifully.
Original Akront rims polished.
New stainless spokes and nipples.
Hubs painted.
Frame, swing arm, stand, handlebars and brake stay powder coated as original.
New chain and front sprocket –
New Pirelli’s fitted to the rebuilt wheels.
Still has the original chain oiler fitted along with the Marzocchi dust seals, cable guides along with the original Akront aluminium wheel rims.
A very rare and unusual bike comprehensively restored to a high standard.
