Restored 1972 BSA A65 Lightning Motorcycle.
An earlier restoration included a roller bearing crank conversion and ‘tuftrided’ crankshaft, re-chromed rims and mudguards.
Recent work completed:
Cylinder head overhauled.
New valve guides.
Valves.
Hardened exhaust seats.
Mild gas flowing.
Re-bore with new pistons.
The crank was balanced.
All of the engine bearings except the mains were replaced.
Gearbox main-shaft bearings.
Toga silencers – reputed to be best for this model, the front pipes are original.
New alternator stator.
Zener diode.
Boyer electronic ignition.
Powder coat was applied to all major painted surfaces.
New seat.
Rear suspension units.
Swing arm bushes.
New Vincent type flat handlebars.
New fork stanchions and sliders.
New steering head bearings.
