Restored 1955 Matchless G3LS Motorcycle.
This Matchless was restored using most of its original 1955 parts.
Full strip and rebuild, new rings, honed, new valve guides, valves ground in, new small end assembly, full new engine gasket set, new stainless steel push rod tubes, barrel finished with black heat proof enamel, cases/ covers cleaned and polished.
New primary chain, new Dynamo chain, new clutch hub, springs, cups, roller bearings, studs, thick & thin washers, nut and lock washers, new hardened end push rod and ball. primary running in oil bath, new rubber seal fitted.
Stipped checked and was rebuilt.
Professionally reconditioned, new HT lead and points – 100% worry free riding.
Front long Road Holder shocks were stripped and fully overhauled – new bushes, seals, oil, stainless steel seal holders. rear jampots same treatment as front.
The frame was taken back to bare metal, Etch primmed, 2 pack high build primer & 2 pack black finished, new steering head bearings. The swing arm was fitted with a new pivot tube and upgraded with rubber O ring seals – oil bath lubrication.
The original Dunlop rims were painted and lined as per factory spec, new bearings, brakes checked over, new Avon SpeedMaster front tyre and tube, new Dunlop TT rear tyre and tube.
New wiring loom, all the lights work as they should, orignal Lucas switch, new eletronic regulator fitted, Dynamo charging fine, orignal Lucas Altette horn, restored with new 6 volt coil – lovely vintage hoot.
All tin work original – stripped back to bare steel (no patches at all) Etch primed, 2 pack high build primer, 2 pack black & 2 pack lacquer, lines on tank air brushed to original measurements, all new decals throughout,
The seat was built up with new sponge, new cover, seat base refurbished.
All new rubbers, cables, stainless steel bolts.
